Two big-time, big-fun fundraising events for the Portsmouth schools this weekend, and they're both Saturday evening. What to do? Well, go to both and make a night of it, of course.

The 5th annual Portsmouth High School Athletic "Booster Bash" will kick off at 7pm in "Upstairs" room at the Brick Alley Pub in Newport, featuring delicious appetizers and a giant helping of Patriot pride. Tickets are still available by contacting PHS Athletic Booster's President Gary Eggeman at 862-1563.  The price is $20, with checks made payable to PHS Athletic Boosters.
 
And check out the flier for Elmhurst's fundraiser, Nibbles & Bids, also Saturday from 6-8 pm at the Glen Manor House. It will feature hors d'oeuvres and light cocktails and a wide range of cool stuff to bid on (everything from Sox tickets to a weekend getaway on Martha's Vineyard.) Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door; checks should be made out to Nibbles & Bids/EPTO.

Sounds like fun to me.
