Interviewed on WBRU

WBRU reporter Eric Johnson interviewed me for a story on the collapse of traditional media and the role of citizen journalism. Recorded the thing while in the middle of a blizzard of IMs at work, so I'm just glad I didn't sound like a total maroon. At least I think I didn't. Here's the clip:

While you're thinking about it, why not follow WBRU on Twitter, and pop over to their site, where you can stream them live. (In the interest of transparency, yes, I enjoy listening to WBRU much more than WPRO, where the bloggers across the river in Tiverton tend to show up...)

If a 5-minute clip just whets your appetite for these topics, you can find a much more detailed conversation in this fascinating mp3 of blog pioneer Dave Winer interviewing Jay Rosen of NewAssignment.net.

Meanwhile, over at BoingBoing, this month's guest blogger is is citizen journalist guru Dan Gillmore, with a tasty screed on today's NYTimes piece suggesting that collaboration among papers may be the only path to survival. Hint: Gillmore sees this more as "collusion" than collaboration.
