Aquidneck Island Energy Conference Saturday [Update w/schedule]

Aquidneck Island Energy Conference This Saturday from 8am to 5pm, join Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and dozens of experts for a conference on energy and the future at Salve Regina University's O'Hare Center in Newport. Sponsored by Salve, the Aquidneck Island Planning Commission, and the Channing Memorial Unitarian Universalist Church, this event is expected to draw hundreds from around the East Bay for exhibits, breakouts, and speakers on solar, wind, geothermal, and other energy and conservation technologies.

Registration starts at 8 am (suggested $10 donation) and the presenters include Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, AAER USA, Inc. (the manufacturers of Portsmouth's 1.5mW wind turbine), attorney Cynthia Giles of the Conservation Law Foundation, Minister Amy Freeman of Channing Memorial, State Senator Teresa Paiva Weed, Chris Wilhite of the Sierra Club, and many more. (I hear Island Park's own alternative energy entrepreneurs, Southern New England Wind Power will have a display there as well!)

We'll see you there!
