Guv's transportation panel tomorrow in NPT

Governor Carcieri put together a "blue ribbon" panel to explore transportation funding, and they are holding a meeting for public input tomorrow night, September 17th, at 7pm down at CCRI Newport.

Rhode Island, like many states across the nation, is facing a transportation funding crisis. That is why this past March, Governor Carcieri established the Blue Ribbon Panel on Transportation Funding to explore the State’s current transportation funding structure.

Since its inception, the Panel has been reviewing the State’s transportation funding structure, funding needs, as well as future funding options. The Panel is now looking for public input and is therefore announcing four public meetings [which] will provide the general public the opportunity to voice their opinions on the State’s current funding structure and offer suggestions for improvement.

They know there's a problem. We know there's a problem. Read coverage of the panel in the ProJo. And here's the take from Tom Sgouros at the RI Policy Reporter.

If you've got any ideas or suggestions, CCRI is the place to be tomorrow night.
