If you're like me, you can't get enough of the Portsmouth Wind Turbine project, and the Sustainable Energy subcommittee has made it easy to keep up, posting construction updates on their web site. Here's this week's:

This was critical week in the project in that the main rock anchors for the foundation were installed. The week started with the pouring a leveling slab to provide a level platform. The rock anchors were then installed in a 20 foot circle. They were installed with PVC sleeves that allow the anchors to bond to the rock below while allowing for later "stretch" of the anchors when the turbine tower is installed and the bolts are tensioned.
