This is HUGE news. Scientists on the Phoenix Mars lander mission have released pix of what pretty clearly is water ice just under the surface. Check out the NASA site.

I mean, we knew there was water on the Moon, but that's part of our Earth-Moon system. Water on Mars means a whole lot of other things become possible, like yacht races and dockside condos. Uh... okay, maybe just human exploration, but you get the idea. Huge.
