Congratulations to Barack and Hilary

Last night was one of those moments to remember, a truly historic point in American history. I am so proud to be an American — and a Democrat — and to watch two truly amazing, history-making candidates. We made Jack watch so that he could say he saw it happen (though we did have to ask him several times to stop making Bunny Foo-Foo ears behind the grimacing, glistening old John McCain.)

We can celebrate Obama's nomination without taking anything away from Clinton. Unlike some pundits, I don't believe that we have deep divisions in the Party. Oh, yes, sure, there's a lot of feeling on both sides. If these candidates couldn't inspire emotion, we wouldn't be voting for them. But at the end of the day, we're all Democrats, and we share more than we disagree.

Congrats Barack and Hilary. Take the rest of the day off.

And then, let's roll up our sleeves and win in November.

HIS FATHER DESERTED HIS MOTHER WHEN HE WAS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD AND WENT BACK TO AFRICA BY WAY OF HARVARD UNIVERSITY. HOW? WAS HIS FATHER WEALTHY?

HIS MOTHER MARRIED AN INDONESIAN MUSLIM AND THEN MOVED TO JAKARTA WHERE HE WAS ENROLLED IN A MUSLIM SCHOOL.

WHEN HE REACHED HIGH SCHOOL AGE HIS MOTHER SENT HIM TO HAWAII TO BE WITH HIS WHITE GRANDPARENTS AND HE WAS PUT INTO AN EXPENSIVE PRIVATE SCHOOL. HE LATER WENT TO HARVARD UNIVERSITY. HOW? WERE HIS GRANDPARENTS RICH?

HE LIVES IN A $1.4 MILLION HOUSE OBTAINED THROUGH A DEAL WITH A WEALTHY FUNDRAISER. HOW?

HE 'WORKED' AS A CIVIL RIGHTS ACTIVIST IN CHICAGO. HE HAS NEVER HELD A PRODUCTIVE JOB OR RECEIVED A PAY CHECK THAT WAS NOT GOVERNMENT-FUNDED AND/OR TAYPAYER SUPPORTED.

THE PRESIDENCY IS NOT A CIVIL RIGHTS POSITION, NOR IS IT SUBJECT TO AFFIRMATIVE ACTION SET ASIDES; ON-THE-JOB TRAINING WON'T CUT IT.

HE ENTERED POLITICS AT THE STATE LEVEL AND THEN THE NATIONAL LEVEL WHERE HE HAS MINIMAL EXPERIENCE.

HE IS PROUD OF HIS 'AFRICAN HERITAGE' (A FATHER WHO GOT A WHITE GIRL PREGNANT AND DESERTED HER).

YEAH RIGHT ! ! ONLY NOW AFTER HIS BACK WAS AGAINST THE WALL,AND TOO MANY QUESTIONS BEING RAISED DID HE LEAVE HIS BELOVED CHURCH OF MORE THAN 20 YEARS,HE WAS PRESSURED INTO IT!

DURING HIS VERY BRIEF TIME IN THE UNITED STATES SENATE HE HAS MANAGED TO AMASS THE NUMBER ONE ULTRA LIBERAL VOTING RECORD OUT OF THE ONE HUNDRED MEMBERS.

So, are you asserting that this little collection of lie and innuendo is your creation, or did you copy it from Sherry, who posted it in her blog down in Maryland this morning? And that's just one Google search; I'm sure the provenance of this is even less savory.

I'm not going to remove this post, despite the possible plagiarism and offensive content, because I want people to see the levels that those opposing change and hope will sink to.

BTW, pal, the CAPS LOCK key is over there on the left side of the keyboard. Look into it.

I was unaware that posting someone elses writings was a violation on your blog, Since I have seen many of your quotes from others here. However...If that is the way it is,so be it.
As far as "lie and innuendo"...about facts that I believe to be the truth, Then why don't you correct them,and tell everyone what part(s) of this content is a lie?
If you find the truth about Obama "offensive" then I am sorry but this content is based on facts as I know them. And I see nothing in your reply to the contrary.
BTW, and just for the record...I'm not your "pal"

Plagiarism — defined by using someone else's material without attribution — is never welcome. Since I was able to point to a prior publication, your post also constitutes copyright infringement, which is not a question of blog policy, but Federal law. Those are facts. Look into them.

I don't take the time to rebut postings by lawbreakers. You want to engage in a discussion, post what you believe — and evidence to support your assertions — in your own, non-infringing words, and then we'll talk.

Sorry to have inadvertently called you a pal. You are a troll and will be treated as such until your behavior changes.

I know the meaning of the word plagiarism. How do you figure copyright infringement,and federal law, when this was sent to me through a VERY long email list of names. Because I posted it on your blog makes me a lawbreaker?(laughing)You can't rebut the posting because you can't deny what is true. Thats it hide behind some made up BS law in order to avoid a direct answer.
They may not have been in my own words but they said exactly what they meant , in fact, and in truth...Truth hurts? I believe I have struck a nerve with you, which says it all. Still no corrections of these so called lies.
As far as calling me a "Troll"...I have seen you, and all I can say is, YOU would never call me that to my face, because you are a very out of shape,obese,poor example of a human being. And a very rude one at that.
My behavior doesn't need to change, your attitude,and lifestyle(or lack of one) does. When you can get your eating disorder under control ,and stop digging your grave with your fork, maybe then you will be taken seriously. Until then, you shouldn't be calling anyone names.

That constitutes copyright infringement. You can call it BS if you like, but I have a safe harbor under DMCA; you do not.

I'm not afraid to respond to substantive discussion, sir, but I refuse to engage with dittohead trollery. Post your assertions in your words, with supporting facts, and I will reply in kind. I do not waste my time refuting Internet legends.

It is striking how anonymous posters like you move almost immediately to ad hominem attack, while accusing me of failing to engage on substance.

Much of what you state (plagiarized or not) are neither truths nor lies but rather smear attacks.

An example of one of your smears is where you characterize Obama's pride in his "African heritage" as "a father who got a white girl pregnant and deserted her".

As a critical analysis of the statement, the behavior of Obama's father is not his "African heritage", it is his family history. It is therefore irrelevant just in exactly the same way we can all be proud of our American heritage, regardless of our personal family circumstances.

You took one truth (Obama says he's proud of his African heritage) and then attempted to put a negative spin on it by stating a different truth that is irrelevant to the first (Obama's father left his mother). Do you think we are so stupid as to conclude from your spin that Obama is proud that his father left his mother?

This kind of flimsy intellectual deception makes up the bulk of the statements in your rant. So it is true Obama is proud of his African heritage, and it is true his father left his mother. But as I have just demonstrated, one does not have to tell a lie to be deceitful.

And, by the way Sir, for you to characterize African heritage pride in the terms you chose demonstrates an enormous disrespect for everyone who is in fact proud to have an African heritage.

But most offensive to my mind is your use of "USAFman" as a user name to spew invective and unsubstantiated innuendo. That, sir, is conduct that dishonors the uniform you purport to wear. Maybe you're not from around here (Portsmouth, RI), but we're part of an island community that has played gracious and grateful host to the United States Navy since nearly its inception. We don't take kindly to those who disgrace the uniform of the United States armed forces by such ignorant, arrogant and brutish behavior as you have demonstrated.

You owe an apology to those of us who care about such things as honor, integrity and honesty.

Hi, Portsmouth Citizen...
I know we don't always agree on everything, but I thank you for your post and second your note of support for the Armed Forces. Everyone I have ever known who wore the uniform of this country has had a sense of honor and duty. Does everybody talk rough and disagree at times? Sure. But selecting a user name that wraps oneself up in the flag and then pasting in this kind of scurrilous trash can mean only one thing, to my mind.

USAFMan is Stormie.

I have no proof, but several patterns in the use of language are suggestive. The use of parentheticals, the issues with spacing around commas, the lack of possessive apostrophes, the use of ellipses between clauses, the clueless bluster about the law, and the theme of my appearance and weight. Take a peek at the reply thread here and see what you think. Don't have a big enough sample to run through a stylometric analysis tool yet, but maybe this entry will provoke some new comments.

Yes, Hi-Fives are in order including Hillary, what a trooper. I find the USAFman blog rather interesting - what an eclectic background Obama brings to high office and would do well in communicating at all levels.
My worry, as I stated before, that I do not trust the Republican Party in their strategy for further insults. Just think what they are capable of when in 2000 they accused McCain through the Swifboaters of "fathering a black child with a prostitute" when the little girl was really adopted.
Then there is the pending attack on Iran before Bush leaves office, since a democratic president would most likely not stoop to the tactic of "preemption". When McCain kissed and made up (or is it flip-flopping?) he lost my respect for him I had back in 2000. He may be a war hero in some people's eyes, but what was his mission? In my mind it conjures up the Pulitzer photo of a naked and crying little girl running down a street away from napalm-flamed backgrounds. But that is most likely classified information.
Do we want another war president? Judging by McCain crowds, it would seem to be the case backed by the latest infusion of $20 million. We can not afford a third Bush term for four years without loosing our Republic.
If the voters are again bamboozled by the Republican propaganda machine that has already started insulting Obama: assigning inferior attributes to Obama because of his trumpeted lack of experience, then we deserve all that is coming to us, more crises in health care, education, pollution, wars, wiretapping, veteran care, energy, clean air and water, ...enough said. Whatever limited experience Bush had, his team managed to ruin the country for the next generation that no president alone can heal. We will all be needed to help Obama in this fight to take our country back for "we the people"!

It's going to get ugly, and the attack machine has only just started — the RNC already launched a site aimed at "defining" Obama. The Democratic Party will need all of us — supporters of Hilary and Barack alike — to win in November.
