Guestblog: Council approves warrants
By John McDaid | Tuesday, 26 February 2008
One of my loyal readers made it to the Portsmouth Town Council meeting last night, and filed this brief report:
There were five Councilors present, with Dennis Canario and Huck Little on vacation. The school warrant items were approved, despite some questions from PCC members. Vote was 4-1 with Councilor Karen Gleason the lone "no."
An interim, short-term (4 month) contract with a security firm for the transfer station was also passed. There was some attempt to re-open the whole "Why should we be paying for security?" issue, but this got little traction.
Big tip of the hat to our anonymous correspondent.
