FISA update [update 2 -- wrangling puts vote off to Monday]

Just spoke with Senator Whitehouse's office, and they said they'd been getting a lot of calls about the FISA bill and its retroactive immunity provision for the telcos. If the Bush Administration's shredding of the Constitution — and the complicity of telecommunications companies — bothers you, you might give the Senator a jingle. First vote scheduled for 2pm.
Update:
Yay. In the first of what will be many procedural moves today, both Reed and Whitehouse just voted NO to killing the no-immunity Judiciary Committee version of the bill. They were in the minority, but on the right side. Thanks, guys!

Update 2
8:12 pm. Well, if I understood Harry Reid just now, dueling cloture motions and other procedural tussles will delay the final vote until Monday afternoon. But tomorrow should be interesting nonetheless. Whitehouse figured prominently in the debate today, and was praised for his work on the committee report and one of the (dead) amendments to the bill.
