PCC forced to file campaign finance report

07Nov21 Pcc FilingLook what showed up on the RI Campaign Finance site: a belated filing by the Portsmouth Concerned Citizens acknowledging that they spent $1,087.95 supporting candidates in the 2006 elections here in town. According to RI General Law, campaign expenditures are to be reported within 7 days. This document was filed nearly a year late, but I'm very glad to see that our process works, and that the citizens of Portsmouth finally have some transparency into the money that went into last year's election.

I first reported on this back in September, and filed a formal complaint with the Board of Elections on October 1. Unlike some people, when I say I'm going to file a complaint, I follow the correct procedure.

Larry Fitzmorris's bluster to the contrary, maybe Campaign Finance Director Richard Thornton does know what he's doing.

Hat tip to Eileen at RITwelfth for spotting this! You totally rock!
