Achieving inbox zero the hard way (a note about the outage and our new URL)

First, let me apologize to regular readers who will have noticed a big gap here at harddeadlines. Our hosting provider — who will, for the moment, remain nameless — moved half-a-dozen servers to three new data centers, and in the process, apparently bit off more than they could chew. This site and all associated e-mail has been offline since mid afternoon on March 15. If you sent me e-mail before yesterday morning, please send it again.

Over the weekend, I restored the site from backup (yes, I'm that kind of sysadmin) and all that was lost are a few days of read counts on articles; all the old content, comments, and links should be fine, although you may want to reset any bookmarks.

Yes, I've buried the lede: the site now, finally, and officially, lives at harddeadlines.com. Links to the old site will continue to work.

And I took the opportunity over the weekend to upgrade to the latest version of the most awesome content management system, Drupal 7, so expect to see some new features once I carve out time to implement.

Thanks very much for your patience.
