With a long snowy weekend ahead, why not curl up with a browser and fill out the just-released Portsmouth school strategic plan survey. Here's the announcement from the school department:

Dear Members of the Portsmouth School Community,

The Portsmouth School Committee is embarking on a process to create a 2014-2019 Strategic Plan for the Portsmouth School district. We feel this is an important endeavor to help prioritize and guide our efforts to improve the schools and educational outcomes during a period of declining fiscal resources from the state. As an initial step, we invite students, parents, community members and staff to share their views in this initial survey. It should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. The survey is fully confidential. While you need to submit an email address to participate in the survey, no one will see the email addresses—only the results. Information about the Strategic Planning Subcommittee and
its work can be found on the district website.

Oh, and just a suggestion: If you're of a like mind, you might want to stress the importance of technology and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math.) There are a couple of questions about those. Fill in the extreme bubbles.
