The Town of Portsmouth has announced plans to spray for mosquitoes in the north end on Thursday night, August 23, between 7-11pm, according to a post on the Town web site.

Spraying of the agent Anvil 10+ 10- ULV by truck-mounted fogger will take place on streets off Boyd's Lane (Norseman, Viking, Valhalla) and the Common Fence and Island Park neighborhoods, and will be conducted by Narragansett Pest Control.

According to the Town site, "Any resident that objects to the spraying can opt out by calling the Mosquito Hotline at 643-0281 by 3:00 pm on Thursday August 23, 2012. Residents are asked to keep their windows closed during the spraying process. If you have questions about the adulticide being used, The RI Department of Health will have a hotline at 401-222-5690 to answer questions between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m."
