This afternoon, VFW Post 4487 in Middletown will host "Party of Legends," a fundraiser for combat veterans and their families with proceeds donated to Operation Stand Down RI, according to a Facebook posting.

The event begins at 1pm with spaghetti and fixings and desserts, and includes a raffle and silent auction; tickets are $8 adults, $4 children. The fundraiser will be held at Gilbert-Burton VFW Post 4487, 52 Underwood Lane (Across from Gate 10) in Middletown.
