Rep. Palumbo apologizes to Jessica Ahlquist

This morning on the John DiPetro show on WPRO, RI state representative Peter Palumbo (D-16) offered an apology to Cranston's Jessica Ahlquest, for comments he made during the recent Cranston "prayer banner" case.

"I'd like to apologize to that young lady. I was a little out of line when I said that she was an evil little thing," Palumbo said near the close of his hour-long appearance with Steve Ahlquist, Jessica's uncle. The two were in the studio to discuss the flap over the Woonsocket war monument.

Earlier in the hour, Ahlquist had asked for an apology for Palumbo's remarks about the 16-year-old student who stood up for the principle of separation of church and state.

Editorial note: Very glad to hear this sitting state representative apologize for his intemperate remarks.
