Portsmouth Rep. Dan Reilly's parents are in the headlines this morning. Today's newsletter from the RI Statewide Coalition (RISC) said they were among "Rhode Island's most delinquent taxpayers" based on a story in GoLocalProv which named them the "top offenders," owing $1.3M in back taxes (an assessment which the Reilly family disputes, according to the GoLocalProv article.) I'm not going to comment; I think the fact that RISC thought this newsworthy says enough.

BTW, I hadn't clicked through to the RISC newsletter in a while — hadn't realized they started carrying ads. Slippery slope, dudes. Staking out the high ground as taxpayer watchdogs is one thing; delivering eyeballs to advertisers is something else again.
