Saturday night: Charlie Hall's Follies in Portsmouth!

Charlie Hall's Ocean State Follies comes to Portsmouth tomorrow night, April 30, at 7:30pm in the Common Fence Point Community Center, 933 Anthony Road, presented by the Portsmouth Democratic Town Committee.

The Follies are now into their 19th year of spoofing RI. This award-winning comedy cabaret has been named RI's Best Comedy Show multiple times by RI Monthly magazine. The Providence Journal calls the show "sharp, tuneful and wickedly funny ... genius, a must-see!"

Don't miss all new skits on the not-so-missing Linc Chafee, same sex marriage, E-verify, longer runways, the Bristol parade, wrong-site hospital surgeries, North Providence indictments and much more. The troupe adds new spoofs weekly right from the headlines, so the show is always fresh.

Tickets are $25 adult and $20 for Senior citizens and students. Call Rich Gottlieb at 683-3231 for reservations. Tickets also available at Allen's Wine and Spirits, 3001 East Main Rd, or you can e-mail PortsmouthDemocrats@gmail.com.

Tickets will also be available at the door, so come on down and have some laughs!

Full disclosure: I am an officer of the group sponsoring this event. Yes, I may be biased, but I've seen this show, and it's wicked funny.
