Congratulations to the new school committee

Hi...

As you may have heard by now, the voters of Portsmouth have chosen a new school committee, with Republicans Cynthia Perrotti, Jonathan Harris, and Thomas Vadney the leaders, followed by Democrat Dave Croston (Full results: http://www.ri.gov/election/results/2010/general_election/portsmouth/). I congratulate them, and wish them well as they guide our schools through the challenges of the next four years. The time for politics is over; now, the focus can return to our schools, our kids, and their success.

To all of you who helped me in this campaign: thank you. I am honored by your trust, and I shall continue to do what I can to pay that forward. Portsmouth is our home, the work goes on, and tomorrow, we move forward from here.

I am deeply grateful for the support of so many people. Thank you, all.

Best,

-j

Thank you Mr. Mcdaid for all of your hard work in the campaign I wish it was a different outcome on both school committee and council but as you said we can only push forward and change our focus to the real matters again! Thank you again for all of your efforts!

Hi, Kamakazee...
Thanks so much for your kind words. While, of course, I'm disappointed at the result, there is comfort in the knowledge that the four people elected to the school committee are smart, dedicated folks, and while I may not agree with all of them on every issue, I do not doubt their commitment, nor their capacity for impact. They have stepped into a very challenging role at a critical time, and I look forward to working with them as a citizen, volunteer, and parent.

Best,

Thank You John,
For trying. Not a good year for Democracts, but at least we preserved P. Kennedy's
seat in the democratic column. Your loss is our gain to have you doing the things
you are so good at. There is always another chance and thank you for staying the
coruse and keeping us on our toes.

Sincerely,
Werner

Hi, Werner...
Thanks for your kind words -- and you know that I'm not going anywhere. Portsmouth is our home, and you and I are the kind of folks who will keep watching and asking questions. Thanks for your long-time readership, and your support.

Best,
