Construction on Boyd's lane tomorrow; Anthony this week

There will be road work on Boyd's Lane at Anthony Road in Portsmouth tomorrow, August 3, beginning at 7am, according the Portsmouth Water and Fire District. Boyd's lane will be shifted into two narrow lanes, and Anthony Road reduced to a single lane at the intersection.

On Wednesday, the District said, construction will continue along Anthony Road as they install a new water main to the Roger Williams University facility. The work is expected to take six days, during which Anthony Road will be reduced to two lanes.

Advice from the District: "Motorists are advised that construction vehicles may be entering and leaving the work area. It is expected that traffic will be slowed and occasionally backed-up during this time period, particularly during commuting hours. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternative routes to avoid likely delays."
