The new local news site GoLocalProv has crunched education statistics and released a ranking of Rhode Island's high schools. You may or not agree with the methodology (and I wish they provided more detail on the "standardization" and "weighting" steps) but it shows Portsmouth High School in the top 20, with only one school that spends less per pupil ahead of us (North Smithfield) and 34 that spend more per pupil lagging. Also, only one school ahead of us — Classical High — has a higher student-to-teacher ratio. Take a peek at their Big Chart.
