The title is shamelessly lifted from the celebration of the opening of the Brooklyn Bridge.

Hurray for Portsmouth!
It is impossible for me to fully express the pride I feel as a resident of Portsmouth that we are the very first town in the entire state of Rhode Island to embrace wind energy. I am proud that we have the Abbey to show us the way. I am proud of the volunteer members of the community who worked to make this happen, and of the Democratic majority of the most recent past town council who vigorously supported it – and most of all I am proud of the citizens of Portsmouth who unequivocally voted in favor of this clean energy solution in a town wide referendum.

Thanks for the fantastic photos. I am so excited to know that it will be turning and generating $$ very soon. Portsmouth should be feeling very good about this accomplishment. Thanks to all who played a role.

interesting post title
You are just a fountain of informative trivia J,... I thought when they opened the Brooklyn Bridge someone was quoted as saying "Mr. Watson Come here, I need you..." guess I was misinformed, again.
I see the blades haven't been turned yet but it shouldn't be long now, a wind turbine in every backyard and a chicken in every pot, isn't that what they're promising?
