The Portsmouth Water and Fire District (PWFD) recently recognized former board member Guy Polselli for his 25 years of service as an elected member. Polselli, who chose not to seek another term in last month's election, was presented with a plaque from the PWFD and the New England Waterworks Association honoring his contributions.

The plaque, presented by PWFD Board Chair Phil Driscoll read, in part, "He worked diligently during nine elected terms as the Tax Collector and member of the Administrative Board, serving one year as Board Chairman. From his service on the Administrative Board to his leadership as Chairman of the Engineering Subcommittee, he gave freely of his time and expertise for the benefit of the District."

After receiving the plaque, Mr. Polselli thanked the Board and District staff for the pleasure of working with them over his tenure. He also thanked the District’s constituents who supported him during the past twenty-five years. Mr. Polselli’s wife Maureen, their five children, and a number of grandchildren were in attendance to witness the presentation.

Editorial note: Written from a press release, but also, from the heart. Guy is one of those folks whose contributions to this town may not be highly visible, but there is not a person who has not benefited from his diligent, thoughtful service to our community. Thank you, Guy.
