Portsmouth Vote today, Support the schools tonight

If you live in the Portsmouth Water District, today is election day for the board, and harddeadlines endorses incumbent Ron Molleur for Moderator and former member Joe Magliocco for Treasurer. Just remember to vote for the "M" names when you go to the office at 1944 East Main Road between 7am and 9pm.

Please take a few minutes if you can; in an election where the turnout runs in the low hundreds, every vote counts. Last year, Jeff Richard and Ted Czech, both listed as directors in the PCC's most recent filing, narrowly won over incumbents. Two more seats could create a majority.

And tonight, Save Our Schools is running an information session for parents and school supporters concerned about the Town Council's $1.2M tentative budget cut. The one-hour meeting begins at 7pm in the theater in the Middle School at 125 Jepson Lane.

The event is organized by Dave Croston and Terri Cortvriend (whose Facebook group, Save the Arts and Sports in Portsmouth, now has over 600 members). If you can't make it, you can send an e-mail to the Council with one click here, and you may want to watch Coucilor Karen Gleason tell the Superintendent not to "cry and whine up there about how you are not going to be able to cut 1.2 million dollars."

Don't cry. Organize.
